I have been proud to represent Billericay East on Basildon Borough Council since winning the 2013 by-election. I was subsequently re-elected to serve a full four-year term in 2014.
I was born in Basildon in 1982 and grew up in Billericay. I have lived in or around the Borough all my life. My family have ties to Billericay going back six generations and I have a deep and abiding love for my hometown. I think Billericay is a great place and a wonderful area to live, with a rich and vibrant history. I am particularly proud of our wonderful, historic High Street and Norsey Wood, both in the Billericay East ward.
I was educated at South Green Infants and Junior School and then the Billericay School before studying politics at the University of Greenwich. I have worked in financial services, recruitment, and currently work in administration for one of the London boroughs. In addition to being a school governor, I was also a governor of Basildon Hospital for four years.
I am currently Deputy Chairman of the Conservative Group on Basildon Council and serve on the Planning Committee. I am also the borough representative on the board of the Basildon Community Transport Service and a trustee of the John Puckle Educational Trust. Additionally, I am also a deputy chairman of Billericay Conservative Association.
