Don Morris

I was first elected as councillor in 1992.

I have been a scout leader with First Wickford Scout Group for 30 years, which means that I have been able to see countless young people grow up to become useful members of our society.

I have been a governor on Bromfords School for 25 years, and I am currently the Chairman of Governors, where I have been able to help to bring it up to a rating of good and I am aiming to get it to outstanding. I believe that our children need education which is tailored to their individual needs.

I am delighted that one of the memorable achievements of the Conservatives is the development of the new Health Facility in Wickford, which will ensure that we can keep all of our existing doctors as well as provide extra doctors.
Others successes are the Building of the Sporting Village, making a success of the Towngate Theatre and bringing the cost of Council tax under control.

We have also, eventually, managed to find a developer for the Laindon Centre.
