Basildon Conservatives have written to Basildon Council asking what licensing help can be offered to businesses re-opening after Covid-19.
Cllr Terri Sargent, Basildon Conservatives Spokesperson for External Affairs, Partnerships and Liaison, who also sits on the Council's Licensing Committee, has written to the committee chairman asking the Council what their plan is for businesses emerging from the pandemic lockdown. Cllr Sargent said: "I am keen to know [the Administration's] views on the recovery plan, as there are many businesses waiting for advice and guidance to get them up and running."
Cllr Andrew Schrader, Basildon Conservatives Spokesman on Covid-19, said: "The lockdown has taken a heavy toll on our businesses and none more so than for the Council's licensees. Many of them will be trying their best to get to grips with the latest guidance to allow them to re-open safely, so it is important that we understand the Council's approach to this and the plan they have in place to enable them to do so."
