Anthony has been a borough councillor for Billericay West since 2000 and a county councillor for the Billericay & Burstead Division since 2005.
On Basildon Council, he serves on the Audit & Risk Committee and the Billericay Area Committee.
At County Hall, Tony is Chairman of the Audit, Governance and Standards Committee and also sits on the Essex Pension Fund Investment Steering Committee and the Essex Pension Fund Strategy Board. He also sits on the Essex Local Highways Panel for Basildon, the Transport Routes Appeal Panel and the Youth Strategy Group for Basildon. He was previously also a long-serving Chairman of the Essex Fire Authority and the last holder of that post before it was merged with the Police & Crime Commissioner. He previously represented the old Billericay North Division from 2001 to 2005.
Tony lives in Billericay with his wife and is retired. He is a father and grandfather. His is jointly the longest continuous term of office of any current councillor on Basildon Council (along with that of Cllrs. Stuart Allen and Kevin Blake, who have all served continuously since the year 2000). He was previously Deputy Leader of Basildon Council under Andrew Baggott (2021-22).

Tony is available to meet residents during his surgery held on the last Saturday of the month (except December) between 10:30am and 12 noon in Billericay Library, High Street, Billericay.
