Andrew has been a councillor for Billericay East since 2013.

He is currently Shadow Cabinet Member for Housing & Property. He also sits on the Performance Scrutiny Committee, the Standards Committee and the Billericay Area Committee.

Andrew grew up in Billericay and lives there with his wife, stepdaughter and son. He works in highways for one of the London boroughs. He is a former school governor and a former governor of Basildon Hospital. He is currently a trustee of the Great Burstead Exhibition Foundation (Billericay Educational Trust). Andrew occasionally volunteers with the Billericay Community Cinema. Andrew is a former Chairman of the Basildon & Billericay Conservative Association and a former Deputy Chairman of Essex Area Conservatives.

Billericay East falls within the Billericay & Burstead Division of Essex County Council. Andrew works closely alongside the local county councillors, Anthony Hedley and Richard Moore, on county issues such as highways.
